Utah Family Photographer | Mommy and Me Session
Mothers and daughters share a special bond. The relationship changes through the clinging love of childhood, to the discomforts of the teen years, but there is something special that never seems to change. As I grow older I realize how much I am like my mother, and how her influence has shaped and defined my character. It's like there is a part of me in her and a part of her in me. I believe mothers are the most significant influencer in a child's life seconded by the Father. Our mother's bear us for 9 months and then nurture us in our most helpless stage of life. They give to us unconditionally and sacrifice so much for our happiness. I'm so grateful for my mother and for the life she and my father gave to me. Now as an adult, I treasure her friendship like the precious jewel that it is. I love you mom!
This session with Megan and Lizzie was another all film portrait session! I shot Ilford HP5 (pushed 2 stops) in Yashica Mat 124 for the black and white, and Kodak Portra 400 (pushed 1 stop) in my Pentax 645N. These sessions are so fun and different from my digital photography sessions thus far. I shoot differently with different cameras, and with the variety of film stocks and development options out there, the possibilities are endless! There are less final images (because I shoot a little slower), but they seem to be better thought out and more organic. What do you think?! Leave a comment below with your thoughts.
